Case Summary:

The victim, a young woman of 20 years old, was raped in Belton, Missouri. She was blindfolded, restrained with shoestrings, and transported to southern Johnson County. Her wrists were slashed and she was left for dead.

After regaining consciousness, the victim walked along a dirt road for some time until a car picked her up and she reached the proper authorities.

Key evidence included the defendant's shoes, found at his residence, which matched the shoelaces used to restrain the victim.

Rick Guinn successfully prosecuted James Minski in 1990.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office and the Belton, Missouri Police Department participated in the investigation.

Minski is currently incarcerated at the Lansing Correctional Facility.
